489 is run by current and former national coaches and players and by people who love hockey and those who play it. 

Coaches

Colin and Robyn-Lee Fielding

This dynamic couple is ingrained in South African hockey. Colin has coached at provincial and national level and is acknowledged as one of South Africa's greatest hockey minds. Colin has designed the exercises and drills for 489 and will be directing the coaches for the event. Robyn-Lee currently coaches Hatfield Christian School 1sts emphasising what players can do for, and through Christ.

Kevin, Sue-Anne, Joshua & Liam Finlay

The Finlay family bring an extraordinary level of hockey knowledge and experience. Joshua has represented South Africa at u21 level. Liam plays premier league and provincial hockey like his father Kevin before him. Sue-anne joins 489 as a life coach, blending her passion for hockey and for helping and developing people.

Julian Hykes

Julian has not only represented South Africa in over 100 internationals but has also had great success coaching at provincial and national level.

Travis Krumples

Travis plays premier league and provincial indoor and outdoor hockey. Travis is also part of the SA indoor men’s squad. 

Michael Bailey 

Mike plays premier league and provincial hockey. Mike also coaches at various levels from helping out at u14 provincial to being Parktown assistant 1st team coach. 

Leon Keulder & Wade Botha

Leon and Wade have achieved great success as school and provincial coaches. Having both excelled in hockey as provincial players, they're passionate about raising the next generation of super-stars.

Jocelyn Bretherick

Jocelyn loves hockey and inspiring and supporting young players. She has represented South African Hockey at Masters level.

Hayley Kilfoil

Hayley plays premier league and provincial women’s indoor and outdoor hockey. She also coaches as various levels.

Nicole Bailey

Nicole plays provicial, franchise and club hockey and has represented South Africa at schools level.

Life Coaches
Andrew Goltman, Daniel Ackerman & Peter Stoffberg

Andrew is a highly experienced and qualified life coach with a passion for identity. Daniel is a South Africa National Touch Rugby player and coach who excels in building up young stars. Peter is a Chaplain and Pastor with a love for hockey and the way it can be used to help young people become all that God has designed them to be.
